About Deeplish Community Centre
Deeplish Community Centre Association is a community-based organisation in Rochdale, working with local residents to improve quality of life, strengthen communities and create opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds.
Who are we and why are we here?
We aim to be a source of hope, support, collaboration and opportunity. We are dedicated to serving people of all backgrounds, with a particular focus on those facing social isolation, language barriers, economic hardship or limited access to opportunities.
Our work includes education, arts, welfare advice, health and wellbeing, digital inclusion, activities for children and young people, community gardening, energy advice and support for people who are newly arrived in the area.
History
Our journey began as the Deeplish Residents Association, operating from a small space known as the Green Hut on Hare Street. With joint funding from the NHS and Rochdale Council through the Urban Regeneration Fund, we moved into a purpose-built centre alongside an NHS health centre and community base. It was here that Deeplish Community Centre was officially born.
Our Community
Deeplish Community Centre works in Milkstone & Deeplish and neighbouring areas of Rochdale. Our services are designed to respond to local challenges including poverty and fuel poverty, unemployment, unsuitable housing, social isolation, health inequalities, language barriers and the needs of asylum seekers, refugees and newly arrived families.
We work to make support accessible, culturally appropriate and relevant to the diverse communities we serve.
Recognition
